First Article Inspection - Deliverable
Requirements
The Seller shall perform a First Article Inspection (FAI). Buyer reserves the right (itself and/or through Representatives) to conduct in-person or virtual surveillance of the Seller’s FAI. When this in-person or virtual surveillance is requested, the Seller shall make the following available to the Buyer:
- Applicable purchase documents, quality clauses, or notes specified on the purchase order, material/process certification(s), manufacturing and inspection records.
- Applicable design packages, including key characteristics or critical part identifications specified on the drawing.
- Material, tools, or gages used in the process (as applicable).
- Actual dimensions or compliance with the drawing requirements (as applicable).
- Inspection results (acceptance or rejection).
- Nonconformances with reference numbers (if applicable).
- Inspection verification, including the inspector's stamp or signature (physical or electronic).
- Applicable material review actions.
- Applicable acceptance and qualification test results.
- Applicable record(s) of Buyer approval for drawing and test procedure the Buyer does not own.
- Access to all portions of Seller’s and Seller’s subcontractors’ facilities where work is being performed in support of this contract.
The Seller will deliver a copy of the FAI report with the initial shipment. When a partial or re-accomplished FAI is performed, the Seller will provide a copy of the report with the FAI item’s shipment.
Buyer reserves the right to:
- Witness or participate in the FAI;
- Review and approve the Seller's and the Seller's subcontractor’s FAI documentation package;
- Review and approve the Seller FAI documentation packages remotely.
